Red campion: We are all aware that perfection exists in the natural world at many different levels. The eye you are using to admire these photographs, and the brain which interprets the signals are just a couple of billions of similarly breathtaking structures. And yet, when it comes to visually illustrating natural perfection, there are negative forces at work. Wind, rain and sun all conspire to render the most exquisite plants and animals a bit on the ragged side. Furthermore, a perfectly functioning natural structure may not look 'good' to the human eye. This common flower, photographed close to Laurie's home in Scotland, is seen in a very uncommon light. Not only is it physically flawless, but it has also been recorded with s passion and photographic brilliance - a rare illustration of natural perfection. Photographer: Laurie Campbell (UK).
